7- Step Cleaning Process
Our procedure is the one recommended by top carpet manufacturers. We use a truck-mounted steam cleaner and a vacuum with HEPA filtration to deliver a deep down clean you will appreciate. We are certified by the IICRC to clean carpet and upholstery, and we follow their recommended 7 step carpet cleaning proceedure.
Below is a list of our standard carpet cleaning procedures:
1) Rake
Many carpet cleaners skip this step, but the result of adding water and cleaners to carpet that is not thoroughly raked and vacuumed is mud. Mud is much more difficult to remove than dry dirt.
At A Greener World Cleaning Systems, we go the extra mile to do a complete cleaning job. We do what we were trained and certified to do. And that makes all the difference.
2) Vacuum
We use a vacuum cleaner with HEPA filtration. This is very important for allergy sufferers. You don’t want a vacuum cleaner to pick up the dust in the carpet and put it somewhere else; you want it to be trapped and removed.
Again, if our competition does vacuum for you (and most don’t), ask if they use HEPA filtration and a high-quality vacuum cleaner (we use a Kirby vacuum cleaner). Then call us for the most complete cleaning in the St. Croix Valley.
3) Pre-spray with detergent
Before we clean your carpet, we pre-spray it with a certified green cleaner called Green Balance. Ask Bob to show you the informational flyer if you are interested. Rest assured that we use only detergents that are safe for you and your family.
4) Rake again
This second raking scrubs the detergent into the carpet fibers. You expect more than just the top layer to be clean, and we don’t believe in half jobs.
5) We Wait For the Cleaners to Work
It takes time for green cleaners to work. That’s because they’re natural products, not blasting chemicals. So we wait for them to work, and we use old fashioned “elbow grease” to scrub traffic lanes.
6) Truck-mounted extraction (steam cleaning)
We also extract the remaining dirt from your carpet using our truck-mounted steam cleaner. We flush it from your carpet and upholstery without soaking the carpet and pad. We give you the latest technology to give you results that will exceed your expectations. Dry time is 4 hours or less under normal circumstances.
NOTE: While dry chemical cleaners are necessary for some rare (or fragile) fiber types, they simply do not give the same excellent results that our customers expect. Carpet manufacturers agree; that’s why some of them actually void their carpet warranties if you use a carpet cleaner that doesn’t use hot water extraction to clean your carpets.
7) Carpet/Fabric Protectant
At your request, we can protect your investment with our fabric protectant. We highly recommend this last step for your complete satisfaction.
NOTE: We recommend that you apply Maxim carpet protection after cleaning your carpets in order to protect your investment. We'll show you a quick demonstration that shows how fantastic this product works at repelling Kool-Aid stains. There is an additional fee for this service.
Set carpet Ph back to neutral
Ph Balancing. Have you noticed that your carpets seem to get dirty again even faster after you have them cleaned? It’s not your imagination. Resetting the Ph balance is an important extra step that is often skipped by other cleaning services because almost all detergents raise the Ph of your carpet in order to get them clean.
NOTE: If the Ph is not reset to neutral, the raised Ph level acts like a magnet to dirt and before you know it, the dirt is back. We reset the Ph for you with a special agent in our rinse water so your carpets stay clean longer.
Pet Stains
If you have pets, then you love them but hate the mess. We have specialized equipment for removing pet stains. We can even find stains invisible to the naked eye to be sure everything is treated and removed.
We are available to you after the cleaning
Last but not least, we check in with you again after your cleaning to see if you have any issues we can resolve for you. We really do care that you have the cleanest carpets and upholstery in the Hudson and Stillwater area.
